What is the segway human transporter?

What ever happened to the Segway Human Transporter?
Last I heard it was being tested by the US Post Office. It hasn't become a transportation sensation. Why not?
Tough to pick a best answer. Thanx to all!
Security at my alma mater college, Caltech, uses it to zoom around. Yes, I pointed and laughed. It's practical, though, because the walkways are wide and there's good visibility.
It's not a transportation sensation because it can't practically be used on existing roads, and there aren't enough wide walkways and sidewalks with good visibility! Also it's expensive.

ABC Transporters and Multidrug Resistance $91.31 A comprehensive review of the most current scientific research on ABC transporters and multidrug resistance
ATP-binding cassette transporter genes (ABC transporters) are known to play a crucial role in the development of multidrug resistance (MDR). MDR is the ability of pathologic cells, such as tumors, to withstand chemicals designed to target and destroy such cells. In MDR, patients who are on medication eventually develop resistance to not only the drug they are taking, but to several different types of drugs.
ABC Transporters and Multidrug Resistance offers an essential resource for pharmaceutical researchers who are working to discover drugs to counteract multidrug resistance in diseases such as cancer. In one comprehensive volume, this book contains a collection of the most current knowledge on the involvement of ABC transporters in drug transport and resistance.
This comprehensive volume provides an overview on the description of the structure, the genome, normal tissue expression, physiological aspect, and mechanism of action of the ABC protein. The expert contributors explore the expression, detection, and implications of ABC proteins in hematological malignancies and solid tumors and ABC proteins and pathogenic microorganisms. This volume also explains MDR modulation through inhibition of ABC transporters and the design of inhibitors and mechanism of action. In addition, the book offers essential information on the biological and clinical aspect of multidrug resistance.PREFACE.
CONTRIBUTORS.
INTRODUCTION: WHAT IS MULTIDRUG RESISTANCE (Jonathan A. Transporters as Drug Carriers: Structure, Function, Substrates $149.72 This reference handbook is the first to provide a comprehensive overview, systematically characterizing all known transporters involved in drug elimination and resistance. Combining recent knowledge on all known classes of drug carriers, from microbes to man, it begins with a look at human and mammalian transporters. This is followed by microbial, fungal and parasitic transporters with special attention given to transport across those physiological barriers relevant for drug uptake, distribution and excretion.
As a result, this key resource lays the foundations for understanding and investigating the molecular mechanisms for multidrug resistance in cancer cells, microbial resistance to antibiotics and pharmacokinetics in general.
For anyone working with antibiotics and cancer chemotherapeutics, as well as being of prime interest to biochemists and biophysicists.
List of Contributors.
Preface.
A Personal Foreword.
Part One: Human Transporter Families ?
